Good Dreams ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user. We've written it in plain language so it's easy to understand.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what's necessary to provide the app's features:
- Account information — your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth).
- Child profile data — name, date of birth, and gender of the child(ren) you track. This data belongs to you and is stored in your account.
- Sleep data — bedtime, wake-up time, night wakings, nap times, and any notes you enter for each day.
- Daily factor data — the factors you choose to track (e.g. diet, activity, schedule) and whether you marked them as present on a given day.
- Family sync data — if you use the family sharing feature, your records are shared with other members of your family group.
- App usage and diagnostics — crash reports and basic performance data to help us fix bugs. This data is anonymised and not linked to your account.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the app and its features.
- To sync your data across devices and with family members.
- To generate sleep insights and trend analysis within the app.
- To send transactional emails (e.g. password reset).
- To investigate and fix technical issues.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your sleep data for advertising.
3. Cloud Storage and Third-Party Services
Your data is stored using Supabase, a cloud database and authentication provider. Supabase stores data on infrastructure hosted by Amazon Web Services. By using Good Dreams, you agree that your data may be stored on these servers.
We may also use the following services:
- Resend — for transactional email delivery (e.g. password reset emails).
- Apple App Store — for app distribution and in-app purchases, if applicable.
These providers have their own privacy policies and we encourage you to review them.
4. Future AI-Powered Features
We may in the future offer AI-powered sleep insights or analysis. If we do, we will update this policy to describe how data is used and whether any data is shared with AI service providers. Any AI analysis will be opt-in and clearly disclosed.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and sleep records are permanently deleted from our systems. Some anonymised, aggregated data (with no link to your identity) may be retained for product improvement purposes.
We may retain certain records for a limited period if required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Export your data in a readable format (contact us to request this).

7. Children's Privacy
Good Dreams is designed for use by parents and caregivers. The sleep data entered relates to children, but the account is created and controlled by an adult. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
